§ 44-1. Title of chapter; applicability; purpose.

This chapter shall be known as the Hendersonville Litter and Sanitation Control Ordinance. It shall apply to the preparation, collection, transportation and disposal of all refuse within the limits of the city, as presently or hereafter established. It shall prescribe rules and regulations therefor; assign responsibility; define terms; regulate the private collection of garbage and other refuse; prescribe rules and regulations for hauling garbage and other waste materials within or through the city; prohibit the deposit of litter on city streets, vacant property or on the property owned or occupied by others; and provide penalties for violations of such rules and regulations.
