§ 54-42. Report of accidents; removal of taxicab following accident.

  • It shall be unlawful for the driver of any taxicab to move the same or cause the same to be moved after a collision or accident involving such taxicab, until such driver has first reported the accident or collision to the police department and a police officer has arrived at the scene of such accident and authorizes the removal of such taxicab.

    When any taxicab is wrecked, damaged or unsafe for taxicab operation, the owner shall make such repairs and alterations as may be required and shall not operate, or cause or permit to be operated, any such taxicab until such repairs and alterations have been completed and inspected by the taxicab inspector.
