§ 54-36. Identification of vehicles/drivers.

  • Every taxicab shall have displayed thereon, the corporate name or the assumed name under which the owner operates, with the company's telephone number. Such information shall appear in the form of a magnetic sign appropriately affixed to the sides or back of the taxicab. All of the lettering shall be not less than 2½ inches in height and not less than 5/16 of an inch stroke, and the material shall be such that will weather the elements and be legible at all times.

    Every taxicab shall have displayed thereon a toplight appropriately affixed to the top of the taxicab with the corporate name or the assumed name under which the owner operates. The toplight shall be illuminated at all times when transporting a passenger.

    Every taxicab shall display a card inside the vehicle with the driver's name and photograph to be visible to any and all passengers in the taxicab.
