§ 52-279. Permitting authority.

The POTW director is authorized to:

(1)

Accept wastewater discharge permit applications;

(2)

Issue a permit containing such conditions as are necessary to effectuate the purposes of 15 NCAC 2H.900 and G.S. 143-215.1 and this article;

(3)

Issue a permit containing time schedules for achieving compliance with applicable effluent standards and limitations and other legally applicable requirements;

(4)

Modify any permit pursuant to this article;

(5)

Suspend any permit pursuant to this article;

(6)

Terminate any permit pursuant to this article;

(7)

Deny any permit:

a.

Where necessary to effectuate the purposes of this article; or

b.

For a discharge to which NCDENR has objected as provided in 15A NCAC 2H.0900.
