§ 22-37. Fire chief.

The chief administrative officer of the fire department shall be the fire chief who shall be appointed by the city manager and who shall serve in accordance with such general personnel rules, regulations, policies or ordinances as the city council may adopt. The fire chief shall have those duties prescribed by G.S. 160A-292 and such other duties as shall, from time to time, be assigned by the city manager.
