§ 14-198. Appeals.
(a)
Board created; members; duties. There is hereby created a massage therapy appeals board, which shall consist of three representatives of the city appointed by the city manager; provided, however, no representative of the city shall be permitted to sit on the board if that person had any involvement in the initial determination. The board shall hear and determine appeals from determinations made by the police chief or the finance director.
(b)
Schedule of hearing. Upon denial, revocation, suspension or interpretation made by the police chief or the finance director, the applicant may appeal the determination by filing a written appeal within ten days of such decision. Upon timely receipt of an appeal, the city clerk shall schedule a hearing within 30 days of the filing of the appeal.
(c)
Decision of board. The board shall render a final decision within 30 days of the hearing. An appeal from the board may be taken to the county superior court for a writ of certiorari within ten days of receipt of the board's decision.
